FAQs

What if our venue doesn’t have a piano?

No problem!  I provide a digital stage piano which reproduces the sound of a traditional grand piano with great authenticity.  I will discuss with you the size of the venue and number of guests.  This will enable me to provide the right keyboard and level of amplification for the event.  I am completely self-contained and, so long as I am reasonably close to a power supply, I can set up quickly in any space.

Can you set up and play in different locations?

Yes. For weddings, it’s usual for the ceremony, drinks and meal each to take place in different spaces within the venue, (and sometimes even at different venues!). I can easily relocate from one location to another. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to dismantle the piano set-up and move to a new spot for a different part of the wedding.

Do you have a list of recommended wedding songs?

Yes. Here is a list of songs that work well as music for wedding ceremonies. While I will always try to learn one or two new tunes to make your wedding unique and special to you, you may pick your other music from this list.

Do you sing?

Sadly, no! Solo piano provides a sophisticated atmosphere, allowing people to relax and chat without interruption.

Can you play outdoors?

Yes.  Many venues provide outdoor areas which, during the warmer months of the year, are used for ceremonies or post-ceremony drinks receptions.  I am happy to set up my piano in outside areas (subject, of course, to the weather on the day and reasonable proximity to a power supply).

What if I need to postpone or cancel?

If you have to reschedule your wedding or event, I will play on your rearranged date (availability permitting).  I will simply switch the booking to the new date (and venue, if applicable).  The deposit and fee will remain unchanged, unless you require something significantly different from that originally booked.

If you need to cancel, and do so at least 6 weeks before the date of the event, your deposit will be returned in full.  Otherwise, the deposit is non-refundable.

What is the booking procedure?

If you decide you’d like me to play for your wedding or event, I will send you a booking form.  Once completed, this should be returned to me, along with a £50 deposit.  I will immediately confirm safe receipt and the booking is then firm and final.  If you wish, I will also supply you with lists of songs to help you with your choice of music for the day.

Although I am often booked a year or two in advance of the big day, I am always here to discuss your thoughts on music and answer any questions in the intervening period.  I like to keep in touch with my couples to hear how plans are progressing!
